Reddit traffic for adult site?

I have looked in the forum and can really find a good way people do this.

I have been posting in my particular NSFW niche. I have some pretty popular posts. When i try to host the image from my own site (it does have a popunder, not sure if this matters) it does not show up on Reddit. I have commented in a couple of my posts with my website. Is this the only way to promote an adult site there?

Reddit allows images hosted at Imgur.

However, check some other sub NSFW reddit channels. You can still promote videos. I am sure of this.
