HI, want to get your opinion and thoughts related to the mentioned topic.
What personally works better for you: taking your post to the month's top-3 vs taking your post to top-3 hot (as an option, on prime-time)?
What makes you more money?

I run a few subreddits and the top post will get almost always more views than hot posts unless those hot posts are pinned.

If you own the subreddit and will change the pinned post constantly then you will pretty much deplete its effectiveness too. I used to sell those pinned spots to members on a weekly basis.

During the time the post is in the top 3 from hot it will get more views, but then it will move down eventually and the top page will consistently get more views over time. You can easily put your post in the top page of a subreddit by buying upvotes.

Top = Most upvoted
Hot = Fastest growing, in terms of upvotes

i always saw it as top being what hot posts hope to become. if you reach top, you have all the perks from hot + long-lasting engagement.
