Reddit to implement affiliate links on their site

I've just come across this new update for reddit. According to the mods, Reddit will start to add a redirect which will turn every link into an affiliate link which credits them for any sales made.

It turns non-affiliate links into affiliate links, for places like Amazon, etc. A brilliant business tactic, as that revenue is just sitting there. They're going to make a fortune.

That's according to the first sentence in the link
 
Yeah it seems like a wicked revenue method. I could imagine them adding a couple more million dollars to their annual revenue.
Which brings me to my question...is Reddit on the stock exchange?
 
Reddit or Imgur needs to find a way to let users monetize their Reddit activity.
 
They are using Viglink! :p

They'll fail in this attempt for sure.
 
They will fail because they use viglink? whats wrong with it? Its used by a lot of the big guns.
