Quality posts and cross-posting are the best ways to gain followers.
I can confirm this. This happened to one of my subreddits after buying just 150 subs from the SMM panel.

Find your niche related sub reddits and use 4-5 reddit accounts to response/help/comment on other people post (Must be helpful for them) and mentioned your sub there as well, so eventually you will redirect other subs traffic to your sub reddit.
