Hi guys, does anyone know roughly how many up votes a link has to get on reddit for it to get on the home page?

edit: done a bit more research, do you know what it takes to stay on the reddit home page for say 2 days? I believe links automatically go on the front page when first posted if I understood correctly

Well that depends on which subsection you post on first. Personally I don't think there's a specific method of getting something on the home page, especially for 2 days. You would need a TON of upvotes but you also then risk them for detecting botting at that point and get your thread removed.

It just depends on what the content of what you want to post is.

Yeah I don't think there is any particular method. It depends on the amount of upvotes other posts on the front page have at the time

I am unaware of any guaranteed methods. I think it's a pretty random occurrence. Getting there is one thing, but staying on the front page of reddit for multiple days is quite a feat normally reserved for true viral content.

You want to stay on the homepage for 2 days??

If your name is not Bernie Sanders i'm afraid you can keep on dreaming.Even the most legit viral content can stay for 22-23 hours max.

I'm a lurker there for almost 3 years, one thing i noticed is that if a link can get 100+ upvotes within an hour, 75% of the time it can get to front page.
