so, i posted about something in casual conversations subr and one of the mod banned me from the subr, when i asked he/she informed me that they thought i am posting about porn and then unbanned me. Happened with anyone else?

Hey, so true, some of the mods are downright jerks.
The just see a new account and ban it asap to show their prowess.
The guy banned me was a jerk for aure or may be having very little vocab

I've been testing Reddit traffic lately and my first experience with a mod stuck in my head.

One of the subs I was in banned me for an affiliate link. Didn't matter that the content I put up would get a ton of upvotes from his own users, spark discussion in the comments and sit #1 for a good chunk of time. Didn't matter that it was one single contextual link. He banned the site.

I went back to that sub with way too many banners and pop-ups which are far more intrusive for the user. Most of them wouldn't be prevented by Adblock so it's not like he wouldn't see them. But that is absolutely fine.

Some Reddit mods are morons.

Reddit is weird itself (these days). Old school is gone. Now, we have teens. Yikes!

Nah not weird, they are just assholes. If I hurt any redditor feelings, I dont give a damn. You all are going to burn in hell.

It takes a special type of person with lots of free time to moderate big sub-reddits. Unpaid positions don't always attract the cream of the crop. Some are in it just to have somewhere in their lives where they have power. Others generally DO care about the community (which is great), but in general, be prepared to deal with all types of different personalities when joining new subs. Just be ready to be ultra respectful to them even if they are idiots. You are on their turf after all.

Reddit is the best SM in my opinion. I don't see any spam stuff there, everything is moderated. I know the rules are a bit tough though, but the community is the best there.

The Reddit it's self is weird, who the Fuck let a subreddit just about death, and peaple get killed to bo on the site and make a subreddit from it, they are kids out there on that Weird forum! I spam the fouck out of it and i spin off !! lol

I’ve been wondering about whether I should get into Reddit, just on a personal level before I dive in deeper. It’s good to know that they’re not very receptive to Affiliate links. Do the mods play hardball with personal users as well?

Generally yes. You've got to post money stuff in the perspective of a third party. Unless you are constantly sharing valuable information constantly most mods will just remove and ban you if you post affiliate links

Reddit mods called the cops on me so yeah had that going got me.

Reddit is good for traffic if you know what you're doing, I rarely use Reddit because of the power tripping mods and other reason, Some of the mods need to get a life 4 real.
