Seriously, I’ve had completely legit posts deleted instantly for “self-promotion” even when linking to helpful content. Is there any trick to flying under mod radar while still promoting subtly? I miss when Reddit was a little more chill.

+ There are AI filters active on Reddit. Many posts got auto-ghosted and needed mod approval.

Try reading their rules very well. Some subs clearly state they don't allow self promotion at all. So, even if your content is helpful, if there's any mention of a product/site you're affiliated with it'll be taken down.
 
Been there, got banned. Use aged accounts and post in smaller subs where mods are less trigger-happy to slip through.

Yeah, mods are way stricter now. The best way is to genuinely participate without pushing your links all the time. Build trust first, then share stuff naturally.
 
You're obviously not promoting subtly enough and as people have honed their radar for self-promotion, it's not going to get any easier. You need to find more organic-looking ways to achieve your goals. Old strategies are not going to fly anymore and there is no going back.

The fact that you are complaining shows that you were indeed self-promoting and the mods are not actually out of control, but better at spotting it.

There are ways to achieve what you want, but they take more effort and resources.
 
These days, I just focus on adding real value in comments first if people ask, then I drop a link. Soft promotion works better when it doesn’t feel like promotion at all.
 
Each sub has its own set of rules, some are more lenient than others. Generally Reddit has become a lot harder to shill on but definitely still worth it if you know what you’re doing because conversion rate is crazy high compared to any other platform.
