I run a local business and I wonder how effective reddit comments and posts are for boosting SEO. Is this something more geared towards ecom? I'd love more clicks on my local google profile but just curious if reddit is a good choice.

Reddit can help with brand trust and traffic, but it usually doesn’t move local SEO much by itself.

Reddit comments get you leads who search for your brand name and convert easily because they got a reference that your brand does it and is good.

Reddit is better for awareness and referral traffic than direct local SEO. It can help indirectly if it drives branded searches or real engagement, but it’s not a reliable way to boost local rankings on its own.

From my experience, Reddit doesn’t really boost local SEO directly like GMB optimizations do. It’s better for awareness and trust than rankings. For local clicks, Google profile work usually gives more consistent results, while Reddit can help only if you’re active in location-specific subs and not pushing links.

Reddit can likely bring some quality local leads for you, its impact on your SEO by itself might be pretty minimal. Everything is of course relative to how competitive your market is.

Local citations are by far the best for local seo

Reddit helps more with brand visibility and referral traffic than direct local SEO rankings. It won’t boost your Google Maps much, but it can drive local awareness if posted naturally in city subreddits.

If locals already hang out on Reddit in your city, it’s worth it, if not, it’s just noise.

Reddit wont move local rankings directly, but it can influence behavior. If locals recognize your name from discussions, theyre more likely to search and click later.
For pure local SEO though, reddit is supportive at best not a primary driver.

Reddit works better as a credibility and market insight channel than an SEO lever for local businesses. It can drive curious traffic and feedback, but its not a substitute for local search fundamentals.

Reddit helps, but more indirectly. Good posts can bring real traffic and brand searches, which support local SEO. It’s not a main strategy, but it can definitely help your Google profile get more attention.

Reddit won't directly improve local SEO, but simple and helpful posts can make people notice your business and look you up on Google later.

Reddit is increasingly powerful for Local SEO in 2026 because Google now frequently cites forum discussions in AI Overviews and the 'Discussions and Forums' SERP features. For a local business, participating in city-specific subreddits (like r/yourcity) to answer community questions can build significant topical authority and drive . While e-commerce uses it for broad reach, local businesses can leverage it to gain 'justifications' in the Local Pack and boost Google Business Profile clicks by becoming a recognized, helpful entity in local digital circles

Reddit can bring some traffic but doesn’t really help local SEO. For a local business, focus on your Google profile, reviews, and local links. Reddit is better for getting attention, not boosting search rankings.

Reddit isn’t strong for direct local SEO; it’s best used only to build brand awareness and indirect traffic, not as a main channel to drive clicks to your Google Business Profile.

Reddit works better when you answer local questions honestly, not when you promote your business.

Reddit Local SEO does not directly increase rank, but value-driven posts/comments on the right local subreddits can increase brand searches, clicks, and referral traffic; this is a supporting channel for local businesses, not core SEO.

No direct impact, builds trust if potential leads search for your business type + reddit.
