There are two types of Reddit karma: Post Karma and Comment Karma. To get post karma ( the easiest ), go on subreddits like RoomPorn, Pics or Funny, and post engagement content. Your account will earn some good karma. Comment karma is more important because it is harder to achieve and you have to post quality comments on other Reddit posts.

There was a post here, I think it was here, which gave a good idea.I could not find the post again.
Basically it says to post old posts which gained a good number of upvotes but some years before. And repost it with slight changes. He gave the r/jokes as an example.
It was a detailed post and if someone could find it would be great.
