Lately, I've been having some success with Reddit. I've talked about it before on the lounge, but what came up yesterday made me want to start a journey thread here.

I have to address monetization before anyone else starts with the questions: I have no idea. Okay? But to me, it feels like this can be quite scalable... even relying on just CPM and clicks.

The thing that interests me here is that a subreddit is a source of traffic. Basically, if you create that subreddit and own it, it's technically your controlled source of traffic. No matter how little or tons it can drive you, it's still a source of traffic that you can rely on more than your Google rankings (in most cases); and which grows... either on its own, or with some prior scheduling on your part. But it's easy to maintain on the long run once you do the initial setup.

Before I go on ranting for ages, let's just go ahead and check some of these out:

I created this subreddit two days ago. Here are the stats I woke up to yesterday:

I had created two subreddits besides this one earlier, but I never received such a high growth rate in a single day. On the same day, before we hit 24hours, we managed to reach 1k.

What my journey would be about?

Driving readers to subreddits I create. Simple.
I'd share traffic and stats in regards to my sites later on, but I'm mainly focused on growing the subs.

What are your current numbers?

As of now, we manage three subreddits.

First one:

Second one:

Third one:

Annnnnd, here's just something on the side:

Personal followers on one of the accounts, where I also received three awards in just a week.

I'll update this thread on weekly basis. I might reveal some tips and stuff along the way, but I don't want to drive the whole BHW army onto Reddit. It's heavily moderated already.

Anyway, wish me luck. I'm determined this time. We're at 7,074 as of this second.
Let's go!

Good luck, I will be following, I've never used Reddit as a source of traffic, maybe you will motivate me to give it a try.

your sbureddit is seasonal or permanently topic?

Good luck mate, it's always good to see a reddit journey! :)

This is unique as a journey. Reddit is one mine with so many precious things. Don't keep us curious by not updating.

Wish you the best and never give up.

Good luck mate.. Reddit journey should be interesting..

Really interesting!
How many karma points you need to open your own subreddit?

It was in my marketing plan, but I discovered I can't open it right now.

Update #1:

We're currently at 8,757 in total.

I haven't done much, just scheduled posts for this month and let them sit there. I'm moving out, so not much work to be done here. Will probably do what I did again in 10 days. For the meantime, I'm letting the scheduled work on their own along with submissions from other users. Will probably have to remove some of the posts... but the subreddits are not getting spammy so far.

goodluck I am following this one as I need to grow my own subreddit too
thanks

Update #2:

We're currently at 10,098 in total.
Earnings: $1.28

Subreddits growing nicely, scheduled posts... I rarely do anything. I even scheduled a couple of links and traffic is a bit steady. We'll see how it goes. I like that I'm not really doing anything but checking up on the subs once every week. Will have to focus more on this to reach my goal.

Any update here?
What's the sub &earnings looking like now?

Reddit is a monster when it comes to traffic and time spent on reddit. All the best and keep us posted.

Can you suggest some niches which you think have a great potential on Reddit, as I believe you must have researched a lot before starting sub-reddits.

How do the subreddits grow? From where do the new subs come from? Reddit doesn't have tags or anything like that so how do new people stumble upon your subreddit?

Hey, sorry for not updating for a while.
I was travelling (corona much?).

Well, the ones I discussed here are growing steadily... not too much recently.
But I managed to acquire a dead sub with 25k followers, which is pretty cool.

Will add it to the final count, edit some stuff with the auto mod and update you guys pretty soon. Still have to settle in my new place.
