i wonder if those 5 people are also the admins too, i wouldnt be surprise if they are behind the whole sub bans recently. and its currently, they are trying to curate to the right, despite what people are saying. even criticizing israel, musk can get you banned fast. they want to sanitize the site so it can be commercial sold off down the line.
I confess I never really understood how Reddit worked.
Well, yes, I can see it in the abstract, but they're such a pain with their moderation rules that it doesn't make you want to get involved at all.
Basically, you have to get karma points for almost everything. It's annoying.

it depends on the subs, its usually the most controversial ones, news and politics, or adjacent to these subs. the most lenient one is currently still banned(WHTWITTER), something i can say on that sub have to walk on eggshells on the others. I currently have 1 account thats been targeted, but wasnt banned. it recieved a perma ban message but there wasnt a "permantly suspended banner", so i checked the appeals page and it said it wasnt banned or anything. theres also another account inquirey page(you can inquire about your acc, its an error).
to add, i noticed a couple of subs, i frequented prior to the mass banning, had suddenly up thier karma, age,,,etc requirement around the same time "spamming" was increasing.
It's precisely in this type of subs that I wanted to intervene. I've got a site that deals with current affairs, so yes, clearly, in terms of traffic, it would help me to be able to share all my links.

If you think Reddit is bad then Quora has worse ethics in terms of threads hosted, some real gruel. I was going to use a new system I learned on Reddit and get Antidetect software for it to run accounts for QA type answers. I tested some threads and got massive views, though correct me if Im wrong, if I cannot put a link then what is the point? (I hear links vanishing, bans and it becoming harder. I will test this soon perhaps because I have most the pieces. I had QA software on QAPop till the website went bust. Im considering just outsourcing to manual laborer - virtual assistant.

the main subs are worldnews,news, politics, there are some affiliated(like facepalm,whitepeopletwitter,,etc) very prone to banning, and anti-you cant report other people because we dont feel like its reportable), of course its also the ones with the most bots, troll farms(RU-state sponsored). adjacent subs are women related discussion, and lgbtq+,
lemmy.ml and lemmy.world, apparently these are different sites, but they have reddit-esque features, its not as active as reddit though. but you wont have the oppressive potential ban-hammer, bot-hammer on your neck.

I'd be curious to know what type of subreddits they moderate. No doubt they're either political or high earners (crypto, stocks, finance, tech).

correction, lemmy.ml , i found out is only an instance and this was apparently is pretty "controversial politically" you might want to check out lemmy main page, for different genre. some are lemmy.ee,,,etc. each instance, if you want to login directly needs a different acc, but if you already have an account on one of the other ones, you can still join in , its kinda wierd.
It’s true that Reddit’s structure has concentrated power in few hands. However, organic growth is still possible if you create authentic, valuable content and engage with the right communities. Focus on building relationships rather than trying to game the system.

What s the latest thoughts about bluesky btw? Powerful name behind it, has enough capital plus anti elon musk and democrats tried to move there with starting a buzz around twitter, yet I am expecting more people to use that app in the future. Like, not expecting to be the main channel but gonna steal more share from the pie.

If a company like Meta can't beat Twitter with Threads, I highly doubt Bluesky will.
