Reddit rules are very strict. Email confirmation is good for your account.

If you're creating accounts as of now , its compulsory to add an email. If you go back 4 months, there wasn't such requirement.
For new accounts yes. But fir old accounts, its not true , I'm still growing my old accounts without adding email.
