Crosspost is a feature of reddit where you share the post of one subreddit/your profile to another subreddit, the shared post will have a link back to the original subreddit/profile. This is a very useful tool for growing new subreddits: You can post things on your new subreddit and crosspost to large subreddits of the same niche.

crossposting means you will share your post on different subreddits, this is like you publishing a post on your facebook page and then sharing that post on different pages so it reaches more people

It's not just the ban risk. Their latest algorithm update has quietly neutralized crossposting. You're far better off posting directly.
