I made an account creator bot for Reddit. Is it necessary to verify the emails? What limitations does the account have if it's not email-verified?

Hey there my fellow Crow enthusiast!

Did you create the bot in BAS?
Is it necessary to verify the emails?
Necessary? No.

But, Imagine if you were running a Social Media site.

Would you trust accounts that verifies their email more or accounts that don't?

I know 100% which accounts I would trust more if I were in that position.
What limitations does the account have if it's not email-verified?
Not able to recover your account.

Some subreddits only allow email verified accounts to post in them.

IMO, lower trust-factor overall and probably easier to get banned.

I personally don't believe it affects the trust of the account since Reddit is also a platform for people that want to stay anonymous, because too personal / sensitive content or discussions being shared there, thus, those people although with authoritative high karma accounts (and you can see on the profile there's no email verified badge) didn't added any emails. However, the drawback you may get is losing the ability to recover the account if it gest a suspicious activity strike of some kind.

In addition to what other said, non-verified accounts have comments deleted much more often. And even when they're not deleted they sometimes show collapsed, and users need to click on the small + button in order to see them.

okay, i think ill just have it create and verify using outlook accounts

It's not a great idea to have unverified accounts in the current Reddit environment. You'll quickly realize that unverified accounts made with a bot are highly susceptible to shadowbans.

It is still basically the same in regard to ban rates.
But I imagine it will have make a difference real soon, especially after recent update where they seem to be pushing you to verify account more aggressively than before.

with any sm account its always better to have a verified email

You don’t need to verify accounts. My best account was an unverified 1 year old and I was able to spam with it for almost a year. Verifying accounts is always a plus (saving shadowbanned accounts) unless you’re botting or spamming heavily, in which case it’s a waste of time.

It’s best to adjust based on your project. If you’re using accounts short-term, email verification isn’t necessary, but for longer-term use, it’s more effective.
