Reddit advertising

There's a bunch of subreddits on Reddit that I want to target for my first really big site. Branding is more important here than a direct ROI.

Does Reddit advertising work when it's done properly? Or is my time better spent trying to "game" the regular posts within those subreddits with legitimately useful posts?

I'm not familiar with either of those but I'll do some research. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

My experience with Reddit is strictly BH spamming so I'm no sure if it applies to your situation but redditors can be brutal sometimes when it comes to advertising on the site.

The cost is .75 CPM. It's a self-serve system similar to PlentyOfFish where you target subreddits

Why pay for something that is free? Not even 75 cents for a thousand. Just create quality content and post it.

Lots of clicks and no sales, but it depends on what you're trying to do an who you are trying to target. I bet giving away something for free and roping them in (slowly) would work. Also, some of my ads got upvotes (and little/no downvotes) - you can find some good subs and I think that the traffic can be okay from Reddit if you find the right subs. I wouldn't try to sell straight off of Reddit again - it got me nowhere. But if you can get them to opt in somehow you would be golden. I wouldn't send them straight to a squeeze page either - maybe just a video or something to start - then a click here for the next video and then try to hit them with an opt in once you have gotten them out of their ADHD Reddit rage and into a normal state of mind.

You do not need to spend much for it ... Just that the quality is the prerequisite to fulfill the goal ..

If you go in the business/seo/entrepreneur subreddits there are a lot of people that made all their reddit advertising campaign stats publicly available as a case study.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. If I should let my profile mature for a while and post links about my business that are useful, or if I should pay for the sponsored posts.

Redditors catch on quickly, if your post is in any way self-serving they will know and ban your from posting in that subreddit.
If you create a post which is very high quality, low on ads etc then you can submit it and be fine, might even go viral and make front page.

I had some success in Reddit promotion. The only problem is that they will ghost your account like still allow you to post links on them but the truth is its not showing on their database. Its some sort of punishment for those accounts who abused posting or spams the site. I recommend you only submit high quality post on their site and engage in a lot or sub forums as frequently as you can.

I haven't had all that much luck with Reddit advertising. It seems like your cash is gone in no time with little to show for it. But maybe I'm doing it wrong?
