For my AI-Sites I am using a plugin called "Auto Post Scheduler", for scheduling the posts. I has a function to automatically recycle old post by adjusting the "published" date. Is it worth it to push old posts? On some of my blogs the posts are 4 years old. But the plugin won't do any change to the content. It just pushes it to the front of the blog. Some of the posts get a real good amount of traffic, but some old posts do not receive any. Any experience on this method?

Just changing the date may have an effect on rankings but if you don't optimize and add good content, it won't stay there for long.

I never rusted such plugins. I really don't think that merely changing a date can place the article high in SERPs!

You have to re-optimize it with new updated content, images and videos if possible and build some really good backlinks to push it high in Google's eye.

I did that on one of my blog. It’s too early to know if it affects ranking

Worth if they are not indexed, and worth tuning them a bit if you feel you can rank them better

Add an auto-tweet plugin for new posts and you'll get some traffic from Twitter...
