Has anyone been able to recover from the latest EMD google update?

Will changing the home page to not target the exact match domain phrase lift the penalty?

    Ejrussell,

Google was not penalizing sites for using EMD's but rather targeting sites that violate other quality guidelines, most of which tended to use EMD's as part of their strategy. If you have a site with great content and have not been involved in any other questionable tactics, the fact that you have an EMD as your domain should not matter. Take a look at other things you are doing and see if you can improve things there.

Check out this post from SEOMoz on the subject,

I was on the second page for main keyword, nowhere to be found after the update. 3-5 days later I'm back in the 2nd page for my main kw. I didn't do a single thing to it. Well I was throwing bl to my 1st tier, but that's all.
