Recovering from Maccabee

I don't like that name, But everyone knows about this update from this name. So, I am using it.

This update basically hit sites using permutation and combinations of the keywords in the site. My sites always get hit from link spamming and redirects etc. First time got hit with such update. I did some work to recover the site.

The first time I tried to save the original domain but failed and can't wait months for a miracle to happen. Here is an original site (It was started to perform good, then got hit) screenshot:

So it's improving.

Bought a new domain

Copy the whole site to a new domain

Changed the entire permalink structure new domain for posts

Modified the titles to avoid the similar pattern of keywords

Redirect the original site's posts to the new ones on new site using htaccess and redirect plugin, including the homepage.

I did change some links pointing to the original one to new domains for main posts (Around 15 links).

The site is improving overall ranking.

It's not an actual recovery, But whatever it takes to get keywords up again.

I've not been paying much attention to Google updates for a while but... isn't this just Panda? It targeted content farming sites spamming multiple pages with keyword variations.

For redirection i can add the new domaine as alias or just new hosting and domaine name separate from old one !
