What's up guys, long time no see.

I'm looking for a cheap hosting provider to host my Plex Media Server, can't be arsed to have a PC on in the house all the time and not really into the whole idea of buying a separate machine to run Plex for me.

Anybody using a hosting provider for Plex? Most files will not be exactly perfectly legally acquired *cough*, but I also won't be sharing the Plex server for the whole world to see, just for me and my family to use.

So nobody on BHW uses Plex that is hosted by someone else? Bummer, guess I'm going to look into Raspberry Pi or a HTPC to host my Plex server.

I’m using it but run it from a VM on my own server. I only assign it 512mb ran and it runs fine so it’s pretty low in terms of resource usage (I run plex + deluge on Ubuntu minimal).

In the past I’ve used seedboxes.cc which is great, but not the cheapest.

If I were paying for hosting I guess I’d just find a cheap option - small low powered Linux VM with just enough hard drive space.

Hey,
I have my Plex set up on a PC / NAS that's on almost always. Thinking a server would end up costing a ton for the bandwidth though. With my ISP I got unlimited up and download and use a VPN as required. Got redundant drives setup in Windows and can use it to remotely download torrents anywhere. All my media and pictures and info is backed up that way. Then I can access the server anywhere in the outside my network as well. Would think a media PC would be a better way to go unless streaming isn't the main use.
