Recommend premium WP developers/themes

I have never made a website before.. and I have 2 questions:

1) Does every website eventually require premium themes? I only have extremely basic html understanding and skills.. thats it. Is having support essential? and what kind of problems usually surface which will require support?

2) I'm considering signing up with:

(i) theme-junkie ($100 one-off..presently 38 themes available); or

(ii) elegantthemes ($249 one-off...presently 87 themes available)

Can anyone recommend any other premium WP theme developers with one-off membership fees that have good support/reputation? Also, which ones should I stay away from?

just buy a custom theme from me, anytime you need it updated i will do it for a fee :)

No, not every website requires a premium theme.
There are free wordpress theme that also does the job.

When you say basic, how basic are you talking about?
I think to understand what the theme are doing, you just need some improvisation and html knowledge.
But to be able to do what you wish to do, you need to be familiar with CSS and PHP.

In any case, you should certainly read about what wp can or cannot do, because only with that knowledge, even if you want to out-source it to someone else, you can spell out what you want instead of generalizing. Else, there is a danger of you asking for orange but an apple is delivered.
 
im trying to create a news/info website on a particular niche.. nothing too complicated. Will be adding banners for ads and if successful, include a business directory/forum in the future, possibly on a subdomain. Are these learnable by myself?

i only know very basic html, how to insert links, images, float, wrap text, new paragraph, make tables...

To add ads banner, basic html will do the job.

To include a business directory/forum, then you need some familiarization with either cpanel or software installation.
I'm not sure about what business directory, but forum installation should be easy as some cpanel or ready forum script provide easy installation instructions.
 
Don't bother purchasing a theme right now. Learn some CSS and you should be fine.

Even if you do expand in the future, there's plenty of great free WP themes for you to play with beforehand.
 
Use Dreamweaver, it's easy if you watch some tutorials to add banners. Or you can just pay someone to do it.
 
try to work on yourself, this way you will find your own style for ..
 
You can find a lot pro wp themes on bhw too..
I think you should not bother to buy a theme, you can use free ones & customise them for your needs.
If you need a theme you can buy it always later...

You don't have to use premium theme, but it's useful especially if you're beginner, and you don't know much about html, css, php. Chances that you'll want something to change, and you won't know how, may be high. With premium themes everything is pretty easy nowdays. By purchasing membership at some theme clubs, besides attractive design and advanced customization options, you'll have fast support which will be very useful to you, as a beginner.

Not every website requires premium themes, however if you have minimal WP Knowledge, you can work your way by purchasing basic themes and play with it.
Eventually you'll dig and expand things around, thinking that might need to check out a lot of premium themes out there.
