    I am using HTMLPad for sometime, but i am doing the code by the hand. You can try it its lighter then DW.

    I hate Dreamweaver.

    Hand coding in EditPlus (good for custom one-click snippets) or Notepad++ (which I'm using now) do jobs better than any web development software.

    Notepad++. DreamWeaver, like all of the GUIs I've seen leave/use loads of extra code which isn't needed.

    Notepad++ and W3Schools FTW.

    EDIT - One example, I viewed the source of a template which was made using DW, I stripped out almost 50% of the code. It still looked the same to the end user, but after cleaning it, it was A) much smaller, and B) validated.

    In fairness, thats more likely to be the result of an incompetent coder.

    Dreamweaver is like most tools, it's only as good as the person using it.

    Well, pick up HTML and CSS, they aren't that difficult. With those learnt, after a few projects, you'd be reusing your self-made codes easily, and improving all the time! You will gain efficiency like I did and you'll be able to create websites in less than 30minutes with the images ready.

    Serif Webplus X5 can produce website fast and sleek, start with their free version......webplus starter edition. Faster and easier to learn than dreamweaver if you don't like coding.
