As a mac user I won't give you any advice regarding your PC config, but I'd recommend you get a VPS for SEO tools (from your list: magic submitter and scrapebox) that easily eat up CPU/RAM, get better performances with very high speed connections and need to run for long time periods.

well, I think you won't require high spec, since you are not running photoshops etc so a basic pc will do the job, ideally anything over i3 and 6GB Ram will work like a charm.

As Zak_A said, if you want to buy the PC for the SEO tools then I will suggest you go for a VPS.

The prices can start from $15 to $35 for a 4 core CPU, 4 GB RAM, and most important 1GB/s connection.

No matter how good is your desktop configuration a VPS will work better.

With a VPS you will get:

    1) A faster connection... much faster since I'm sure your home connection will not get near to the 1GB/s vps connection.
    2) You can run your softwares 24/7
    3) You can connect to it from everywhere
    4) The electricity bill will decrease. Is one thing to run your PC 24/7 and have one somewhere that run 24/7
    5) The sistem will be much faster since no matter we are talking about a virtual machine that is set-up on a hardware dedicated for this kind of tasks.

I'm currently using altinsoft[dot]net as a VPS provider.

Bermanhosting 2gb VPS for about $16, I get great use out of mine.

Home PC, I love windows XP (I know it inside out and every tool runs smoothly on it, it might not be sexy looking but never lets me down :))

Get plenty of ram on your home PC, and try get a decent graphics card so you have the option of using things like photoshop.

    1) Fiber link internet connection 100MB at least
    2) Quad core cpu intel i5
    3) Much ram (at least 4gb)
    4) A good motherboard, average GPU
    5) SSD drive for OS, HDD for the rest

That should be most of it assuming you already got a big monitor.

I have one at home (western europe) but what's silly is that wifi is limited to 54mb. So I can only actually have 100mb bandwidth if I plug the computer.

It's not often that useful though, when you got that kind of speed it doesn't make much difference to have 54 or 100 - unless when you are downloading some big files. The only interesting use of it actually is when you're not alone at home, you can have like two computers + a ps3 online game running at the same time and everything runs fast and smooth :)

I'm sure you will not be able to get this on a home connection:

And this is in a period when the network have a peak load...

No mater you got a 100Mb/s fiberlink connection you will not be able to get near that.

But if you can afford a 1Gb/s connection then you should go for it.

You said you want to use it for SEO tools

And if we are talking about SEO tools then better internet speed mean better accuracy and speed and of course better results.

When I bought my first tool (ScrapeBox) I was running it on my local machine and I start to make testes and notice that I need more resources so I get to a VPS, get some proxy, then move to a better VPS and I even got to build my own proxy server... And if look back now I will say that at the beginning I was playing with the software not actually working with it.

If you want to get 100% of a tool you must run some tests before you use it. If the tool is working and not giving any errors then this doesn't mean that everything is ok.

Let me give you an example.... You got SB and 30 private proxy from squid proxy (they have a limitation of 10 connection/server), and run SB with 100 connection.... well every thing will look normal and you will not get any errors but your success rate will be very low since 60-70% of your connection are killed by the proxy server. At a first look you got a great configuration and you will consider that the success rate is normal... but isn't it.. If you will take the same list and run it with 30 private proxy from a provider that allow 100 connection per server you will see the difference.

About the remote access.... Man we are in 2013... if you do not try to keep up and always try to get the best then you will be out of this business.

P.S. To make money you need to invest.. this is a lesson that I learned on my skin. You will never have the chance to make millions with home PC's

An i3 with a decent 4gb RAM stick would do good :)

But IMO you should rent a VPS for SEO related tasts.
