A long long time ago, when I first started using computers and realized how rubbish Internet Explorer at the time was, I found Firefox. Nowadays I feel similar towards Firefox, it works but for some reason I feel like moving away. It seems to be quite a memory hog and when it freezes the whole thing just crashes. Flash seems to screw up quite often too. I'm not sure if that's something to do with Firefox or the fact that I don't always keep Flash up to date. Nevertheless I was wondering what alternatives would you guys recommend? I will be cleaning up my computer soon and want to try a different browser.

I know a lot of you will probably say Chrome, but due to it coming from Google I would rather stay away. I was looking at Opera, but I'm not so sure about the plugins. Firefox seems to have a wide range of useful plugins and whatnot. Some seem to recommend Maxthon but I'm not so sure about it.

Unfortunately nothing. Because firefox is something like IPhone. It is not just a browser, it is a framework enhanced with thousands of applications and no other browser has those features.

I concur with Firefox. Firefox's adobe plugin is garbage. Always locking up.

I use Chrome and Opera for an alternative.

I find that Safari is even worse with memory and freezing.

I would try Opera. It's a good browser.

What about Chrome? It's fast and it's the best browser out there if you just need to browse on internet

It's all about opera. Firefox is too slow, chrome is too watery, IE is just plain crap:)
