thnxx everyone for thier comments...i've used some of them, and i think i'llt try the others now... i don't want the advanced softwares and i prefer the simpler ones which are easy and quick. I found SBE to be quite simple, but can i modify the website after i have created one using SBE. I mean like if i want to add a page to it manually, can i do that...??

You can find Dreamweaver on plenty of Torrent websites even though the price ticket is : $6-700.00 but there is a steep learning curve.

Definitely wordpress, really easy to use and add content. Lots of free templates available and you can pick and chose what plugins to use to suit the type of site you have. Plus the search engines love it.

These are the best plugins (in my opinion) to start with

    adsense manager
    google sitemap generator
    sociable
    wp-statpress
    sticky-posts
    wp-related-posts
    wp-db-backup
    my-page-order

caffeinated content - if you need quick and easy content!

    Here are some good themes:

If you want to use open source software, I would recommend Wordpress and Joomla. These two are very easy to learn and use. Plus, there are tons of free plugins and themes available on the Internet which you can enhance your site.

If you are good in programming, go ahead with Dreamweaver and customize your site from scratch. :)
