    i would advise you to steer away from classic vb and instead learn VB.NET

    .NET is not only current, but also very powerful.

    Can I suggest not to use books as learning source for programming !

    From experience use video tutorials and repeat what others do - exponential learning 100% on this

    its not one or the other dude. some people learn better from books and there are times it is easier to read a book.
