Recommend a lite editing software?

Hey fellas,

Been out of the editing game for quite a long time. I used to mess around Sony Vegas and Premier when ranking a video was a walk in the park.

I'm looking for a light software to do basic editing, preferably something free.

What would you recommend?

Yeah, I just saw that somewhere online. I'm trying to pick between that one and ShotCut.

Any idea?
 
my best software is Sony Vegas, if u want to check another one i recommend DaVinci Resolve
 
if you want to make it professional only adobe software but if you don't have time for learning and practice go for Filmora / Movavi video editing
 
Davinci Resolve can be a very good free alternative. I would have recommended Blender, but it is not exactly easy to learn. If you can cope with the learning curve, Blender is worth it I believe.
 
iMovie is braindead simple then you can usually buy a lifetime license for Final Cut Pro on the cheap from a student when you're ready to make the jump.
