Recent YT changes?

Hey guys,

I have not kept up with YT monetization in recent times and the changes they have made.

I have heard they made changes to YT making it a higher barrier to entry to become part of the YT partners program in terms of viewing hours and subscribers.

Does anyone know if they made any other changes besides these such as to the pay schedule per 1k views or any other pertinent changes someone should know?

You need 1000 subscribers and 4,000 hours watched within a year(12 months) to be considered in their monetization program. Your channel will be evaluated by them I believe automatically and you’ll get a desicion via email.

They indeed made it harder especially starting from scratch organically. But you can either buy a premade account that already has monetization or you can still monetize with PPC, PPA, affiliate, website, blog etc. driving traffic to your links in the description.

They do this so that Hollywood celebrities will take over the platform.Don't built your business on adsense if is not a safe business model.You can make more money selling your own products.
