Google rankings have been pretty volatile lately. Have you noticed similar movement over the past month?

My personal observation: this seems to affect casino and affiliate sites the most. I’ve seen multiple cases where pages moved from
  • Top 1 → page 2
  • Top 2 → page 2 or 3
Some of those keywords are now bouncing back toward normal, but there’s still noticeable traffic dips during the swings.

From what I’m seeing across multiple projects (casino + SaaS):
  • Daily SERP fluctuations in competitive keywords
  • Pages moving in and out of top positions without major on-site changes
  • Traffic swings even when link velocity stays consistent
Curious to hear from others. Are your rankings bouncing hard, or staying relatively stable? But, there is no official confirmation from Google.

May be related to some update. Or two updates being quite near each other.

I’m seeing similar fluctuations, especially in competitive niches. Rankings seem to be rotating more even without major SEO changes, which looks more like Google recalibrating quality and intent signals rather than penalties. Sites with strong topical authority and brand trust seem to stabilize faster

I’ve noticed the same pattern across a few projects. Rankings drop hard, then partially recover without any major changes, which suggests algo testing rather than something site-specific.

Yes, that’s what it feels like on my end too.

Agreed. I’m seeing the same rotation in competitive niches. Even with no major SEO changes, positions keep reshuffling.

Same experience here. A few of my projects dropped sharply and then recovered on their own within few days. That kind of movement really looks like algo testing or SERP experimentation rather than site-specific issues. I’m holding steady and monitoring before making any changes.

Rankings are fluctuating even for low competition keywords. Google might be running A|B tests to see which sites fetch better CTR.

Yes Google has been showing noticeable ranking fluctuations recently, especially in competitive niches like affiliate and high-competition keywords. It’s common for positions to shift day-to-day even without on-page changes, and many SEO pros are reporting similar volatility without any official update confirmation.

My forums are up. That's clear. Affiliate sites, not so much

It started from December last year, and things have not recovered from my end.

Yeah my site Boomlify also go 2nd page from 1st page

Yeah, bro, same here. Some of my URLs also slipped from page 1 to page 2 without any major changes. Looks more like volatility than a penalty.

That’s actually a valid point. It really feels like Google is testing different results for CTR and engagement signals. I’ve seen keywords jump and drop within 24–48 hours with no clear reason.

True. I’m seeing the same in competitive niches. No manual changes, no update announcement, but rankings are disappeared and traffic is going down. Looks like silent testing or algorithm tweaking in the background.

Interesting observation. Forums seem more stable lately, while affiliate style pages are getting hit harder. Google might be shifting preference toward community-driven content.

That’s rough. If it started in December and hasn’t recovered, it might not be just fluctuation. Have you checked if traffic drop aligns with any core or spam update around that time?

I think this is either a rebalancing process after the core update, or they're conducting tests on the AI/intent side. Gambling and affiliate marketing are already the most sensitive categories, so they're affected more severely.

But they have not announced an update this year.

Yes, we’re seeing volatility too especially in competitive niches. But we see it as a positive recalibration, not a penalty.

When rankings bounce back without major changes, it shows the site still has strong authority. We’re focusing on strengthening content, topical depth, and trust signals rather than reacting aggressively.

I suspect this is either a follow-up adjustment after the core update or an AI/intent-side test. Sectors like gambling and affiliate marketing, being the most sensitive, feel the impact first.

It could be niche related

You could be right about it being niche-related. Gambling and affiliate verticals are under heavier scrutiny in Google’s quality systems. Even small algorithmic refinements in trust, intent matching, or spam detection tend to impact these niches more aggressively than others. So volatility here isn’t unusual.

That’s a solid point. It feels more like rebalancing than a penalty.

But they have not announced an update this year.

True, there hasn’t been any officially announced core update. However, Google often deploys unconfirmed tweaks and system refinements throughout the year. Not every significant ranking fluctuation is tied to a public update announcement, especially when it involves AI testing or intent-layer adjustments.

I agree. Sensitive industries like gambling are typically the first to experience volatility when Google recalibrates quality signals. With no Search Console warnings and no major site changes, this points more toward system-level fluctuation.
