Hi BHW... I searched around a bit for some community talk but couldn't find a recent thread regarding this.. If there is one, feel free to post my message there or delete this one, sorry.

As we all know, big G has recently updated PageRank on 12/06 which was a surprise to all. We weren't expecting it at all this year after what was said last month.

I'm noticing some changes on sites that I don't necessarily trust. For example, a few domains I'm researching were PR1 and I would've thought they'd increase to PR2/PR3 at the least- but now are reading PR0. And their SERP results have actually increased over the last week or so.

Historically, the PR update can take up to 2 weeks to become stable and provide "actual" results. What does everyone think. Do most here agree with this concept? I know many don't think PR means much anymore but just fishing for some thoughts out there, thank you...

Regards,

A majority of my sites went up in PR which I was excited about with one going from a PR4 to a PR6 (5 YO Authority site).

Good deal, congrats! Has the increase been "steady" since the update?

Ya I've seen some saying that.. Just a little confused why the PR on some of these sites is now showing PR0 when they've been solid PR1s for 2+ years, yet the SERP results for main KWs are climbing after a drop on 10/04/13..

Because PR is just 1 of 200+ factors affecting SERP. I don't even know the PR of my money sites, because it's irrelevant (I don't plan to ever sell links from them).

This update shocked webmasters because no one expected it, at least not in 2013.
