I can buy 2 domains, backlink quality is same but count is less

e.g. one domain 10 k backlink,recent expired
one 30k ,2 yr old expired

da pa exact same
which will u choose

logic says that if 2 domains have the same strength (ie DA in this case), but one of them has 10k backlinks while the other one has 30k backlinks then - by logic - the one with 10k backlinks has better links, therefore it's better.

But this assumption is superficial as we don't know everything that's important about these domains (their trust and reputation with google, their backlink quality and anchors, their content history, etc).

It's possible, therefore, that any / most / all of these things apply to either / both domains, which could make either / both domains bad or useless:

- the 10k links domain is penalized / banned by google for whatever reason (had been flagged as PBN, is using abused anchors, had been used as casino redirect, etc), thus making it impossible / hard to rank in google (therefore being considered useless by most SEOs)

- either domain could have trademarked words in it, which would make it hard / impossible to monetize despite of its high DA scores

- most / all important backlinks of either domain could be nofollow / non topically relevant, which could make it weak as 301 / money site

I really don't think we can ascertain the quality of these domains based on the few metrics you've shared, so more in-depth analysis is needed IMO...

i’d take the fresher one w 10k links. recency hits harder for indexing n trust. older ones risk more deval unless u dig deep into link rot. quality > count if da/pa match.

10k and 30k backlinks are definitely mostly spam links.

I'll choose which one is presently ranking on Google or has the better opportunity.
Without looking at the domains themselves I know more than half of those links are not useful. So I'll look at their backlinks and filter for the quality one. Whichever one has the most amount of quality links would be my choice.

These metrics are not sufficient to make a purchase decision. You need domain history and content to see if it's abused in the past. The backlink quality also matters a lot. If one of the domains has great links like wiki, Forbes, nytimes, etc., and the other has a ton of guest posts on random sites, I'll pick the one with good link profile. So, you need to go beyond quantity and choose quality.

I bet you'll end up losing money choosing any of these,
Unless you're referring to some good domains worth 4-5 figures, which I highly doubt in your case,
You'll end up paying for some super spammy domains for the sake of the number of links & their metrics

10k fresh expired wins. Link freshness matters more than count. Older expired domains lose backlink juice over time even with the same metrics, trust and crawlability can sharply decline.

I would choose a domain with 10k backlinks (recently expired)
Why:
-Freshness is more important than quantity
-Google "remembers" recently active domains better
-In 2 years, many backlinks could become toxic or disappear
-Less risk of prior sanctions from Google

If both domains are "clean" - take the fresher one. If the older one has better thematic relevance to your project, it may be worth it, but check for toxicity more carefully

I’d go with the recent expired one fresher signals = better crawlability and faster trust recovery  Older ones might have lost some SEO juice over time :anyway:
