Hi,

I recently bought an expired domain. It has a clean link profile, only 100 RD’s but a lot of big authority sites in the mix.

The site was active from 2013 to 2017 and had 5,000+ keywords in top 100 the day it dropped. It doesnt appear to have been used since 2017.

I started rebuilding the website around 3 weeks ago.

I initially had problems getting the site index. I’ve worked with a lot of domains before but always fresh and never expired. Never had this issue with indexing before. Anyway the site was finally fully indexed around 1 week ago.

I’ve around built 30 pages. 5 from the old website and 25 fresh and the 25 are all in the same topic. The fresh pages are all for 0 Keyword Difficulty terms. Where there isn’t even 100 results for them, super super low competition.

But the site isn’t ranking for any of them at all yet. Getting around 10 impressions a day. Is it normal for their to be this big of a delay before the site starts to take rankings on expired domains?

I know if this was to be a fresh domain with 0 backlinks it would be getting way more impressions.

Just as an fyi, the topic of the old site is exactly the same as the new site. And the reason i have not fully rebuilt all pages is because many are outdated and wouldnt get traffic (the niche is gaming). The pages i have rebuilt are the ones where the majority of the backlinks are pointed too.

Many thanks

- 3 weeks is nothing, give it 3 months
- Content might have ranked well back in 2017, it might not rank well nowadays
- Super super low competition with super super low volume won't bring any traffic. Ranking algos are very different from what they were back then.
- What was going on with the domain between 2017 and now? Any abuse?
- The domain might simply be too weak or lost too many backlinks overtime
- Use Archivarix to recover the expired domains with a few clicks

you need to wait for a few months at least to see the results i guess

It will take time to see results. Have you inspected the domain carefully?

I've bought about 20 expired domain, some with backlinks from top news source site like, nbc, yahoo, forbes, some with traffic from backlinks, some are live website with traffic.

It has been over 2 months now, all these websites are receiving relatively small impression from Google, and it's not on a growing state, but up by 500% then slowly die off, some completely 0 impression but with all pages indexed.

Thought of investing more into quality domain, but I have no more confident on this, this is an awful experience and bad investment for me.

What are you using to generate the content?

80%+ score of human content thru originality.ai. dont assume I know nothing lol

oh, you are here for your ad impression, my bad.
Originality score means absolutely nothing mate, based on your reply, i can assume you are using AI to generate the content and that might be the reason why your content is not ranking
