Hi everybody. i want to ask some SEO advice. If you have a partially completed and indexed website (some KW are even ranking in the 20-30), but you want to start it all over again on the same domain, can you just delete it all, redo it and have google reindexed it again with the new look/structure and everything (but same articles from before). Is this a big SEO problem or does Google allow it?
The reason i am asking this because this is my first attempt to rank a website and after two months working on it i saw same mistakes i made from the start which i would like to repair now, but the best option is the above mentioned - start from scratch, mainly because the code is a complete mess (started with dummy data loaded).
Have someone tried this before and with what success? Any advice would be helpfull
Many 10x from an seo begginer

Sure you can change all your structure, but also take care about your link buidling, for both internal and external link, keep the same articles URL if you have links on it, and try to keep the same internal linking (or optimiz it)

So if you want change your menu, structure or something like that no worry, but don't change the URL of your post, if you do it the new URL will be indexed as before, I have do it already for articles without link and when indexed you have the same rank position as before

Just make sure all the old urls redirect to the new urls about the same subjects and you will be fine.

Yes, You can do this. Use 301 and google crawler inside GWT for this purpose and all will be Fine.

So it is ok to completly delete the curent wordpress instalation, install new and everything from start, just the articles need to have the same URL directory as before ? ex. http://bla.com/KW1/KW2
btw i still havent started building links,i want to make the optimisation just right first

Sure, google see mostly the links and the content, the source code is a details, but of course for SEO you need to have a good speed load and a clean source code, if you don't have any link you can change the URL because google keep in mind the content and will "switch" you previous url by the new on the same rank position, but be sure because if you have links you will stop receiv the links juice, then you will lose your rank for this page

This could be a bad idea. It sounds like you will be doing this on your live site. You should always build on a development server/domain and move it over when complete. If you take down the current wordpress install and install a new one then you could find yourself in difficulty if Google crawls the site whilst you are in the process of changing things.

You can change structure, not an issue. You can then resubmit to google index on WMT after your site is ready so its updated quick.
