what could it be? if your site is sandboxed, it'll not appear in SERPs at all right?

i see. so what are possible reasons for drops in SERP? only google dance? so everytime your serp drops, it's a good thing? o.O

lol no. It is NOT good when SERPs drop. Eventhough, serp drop can be google dance but it might as well be a penalty of some sort. You can get a number of penalties depending upon various factors. If you get a huge penalty, then you drop out of the SERPs ( ie. from the primary index of 1000 webpages).

To check if your site is sandboxed or not, do the following :

site:yourdomain

Eg: if your website is hello.com then you search in google for

site:hello.com

If you see hello.com results after searching, then you are not sandboxed. If you see NO results in after that search, then you have been sandboxed.
