Reasonable number of internal links

I add three completely handwritten articles with +1500 words to my website daily, and for the past six months, I have been organizing the site's topics into smaller sections. Currently, I include 12 to 16 internal links in each article, It's worth mentioning that each linked article is also handwritten and not less than 1,500 words. Is this number of internal links are safe, or should I reduce it?
And I should add that all of them are genuinely relevant, and in fact, I link my new articles(smaller sections) to the older ones(major sections). In fact, these Inter links are essential

personally, I think they're too many, but if they get you rankings don't mind my opinion

Also, you can check what your top competition is doing with regards to their internal links and mimic that. If they rank up top (1-3) it means that they're doing things right
