Really weird website inquiries

Don't really know where to put this...

So the website for my activity online is on since a month, still in draft mode because i'm finishing the portfolio.

No one knows about it, but almost daily i receive inquiry from the form in the homepage.
All these inquiries have not a real message, just one, random, nosense word.
I checked all the emails and they're all from big usa companies.

Tried to contact them but no one replied back.

It's really weird, first because the website it's empty and not in google yet, second this behavior happen frequently and it doesn't seems human... but the emails are officials addresses of big companies.

I shared the url of my website just with a user of this forum, proposing him a partnership, but never had a reply.

Of course i tested the form many times and it works correctly.

Perhaps someone has a clue about what's going on? I'm really confused.

Welcome to the BOT Area. This shit takes place when a new site comes up, therefore, you should try installing wordfence + recaptcha= No more spam shit/hack shit.

Are they using your contact form or directly from the whois emails? Are you sure they are real and not just spoofing the company name?

Maybe testing the form so they can send spam later on? Not sure.

Yes, i'm also getting similar spam, random one word message. It's common if you have a form in homepage without captcha.

Are they testing for years as i'm getting these for more than 1 year.

The same thing keeps happening to my newest site as well. As someone pointed out, try using recaptcha. They're using bots to mass-send emails hoping that they might land something.

My Theory: I have whois privacy and don't suppose I've shared the site with any IM online. It's completely new and haven't built a single link yet. However, the theme/plugin providers have my site in their database and I'm guessing someone amongst them is playing dirty and selling info and that is why I'm being contacted via contact-form and not directly (If they scraped whois data, they would've had my email) - Ofcourse that all just a hunch.

Edit: I just remembered a few months ago I had a conversation with Namecheap support on this matter as I received a message on a freshly registered domain. I don't remember the particulars of it, but they said that after registration the domain is in a certain database for some amount of time (hours? mins? don't remember) and anyone can access the info there. Maybe someone here can connect the dots and shed some light on it.

This seems so fucked up. Whether or not that's the actual cause, that's something that seems so easily abused holy shit.
