Okay, I made a blog about a month ago. Everything on my blog is original content, as all my posts were written by me. I didn't copy anyone's content or anything like that.

Everything was going great. I was ranking in the top 25 for almost every keyword that I used in my articles. I was publishing about 1 or 2 quality posts per day, however last week I had been busy with real life job interviews and things like that so I did not have time to post anything new.

My blog went 7 days without fresh content, and yesterday I published the first new post after 7 days of no posting. The next day, I check my rankings for keywords and everything went horrible. I'm not even in the top 100 anymore for even key phrases.

I'm not sure if my site was penalized or what? I do not think that I have done anything to receive any type of penalization.

The only thing I did was order 100 directory listing backlinks from SmartSubmit (which is advertised here on BHW, so I think they are safe and good way of getting backlinks)

What could I have been penalized for?

Don't worry. This is Google dance. When backlinks starts to get index you will see this kind of symptoms.

Thanks for the quick response, one other thing that I realized is that I changed my page title's on all my pages. In the past, my titles were like:

Blog Informer| Post Name: Blog Informer

so I changed it to

Blog Informer| Post Name

Do you think this could be a possible reason? If so, do you think it will fix itself?

Same thing happened to me with one of my MNS...was on page 1 of google... I added unique content...also added a few more keywords/tags and then BAM like two days later my site is in like page 100+

Yeah, I feel your pain. It really sucks, especially when I have worked so hard writing all these posts. It seems my hard work is going in the opposite direction.

Diversify links .I had a similiar issue i asked a fiverr guy to make around 100 profile links and then i couldn't back link it.What happend was site started to having a google dance,Start diversify links. It will work.

Changing onsite SEO parameters is another reason of Google Dance. You will notice it within 2 weeks of changing. If you have changed already, no need to re-change again. It is normal.

Don't worry about this, I will tell you what has happened.

Imagine a big line of soldiers are standing to attention ready for inspection.

The drill sargent notices one soldier looks like he has beefed up and is looking more tough and ready (your site). So the sargent pulls this soldier out of line and takes him aside for a bit to reassess him.

Yay! I checked today and things are great! I went from Not In Top 100 back to top 15 on most keywords.

thanks! I was worried about your site and l love when people follow up on the progress like this. However i am curious that you said it was number 15, is it still number 15 in google? Backlinks didn't do much?

Well, I'm not sure if the backlinks are affecting my ranking right now. I'm going to give it a few more weeks to really show some effects. Quality backlinks are always a good thing, so I'm sure it will give me some leverage in time. Some of my keywords are ranked in the top 3, while others are around 10-15.
