Really need some help to generate members and traffic to site

Took over a survival site and membership died. I have sent out emails, but not really anything came of it. I have one faithful member still... that sucks. I have tried adsense. Scrapebox, etc. and at this point I'm getting ready to throw the towel in. Can anyone recommend a sure easily describable method that might help me? I have tried contacting business owners on sites that don't have a forum perse, just sell products to see if they would like to affiliate - I offered free advertising, but no one got back. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks...

It will be much, much easier if you share the URL of your site :)

Anyway, for traffic generation Reddit is an awesome source.

Buy ~10-20 semi-dedicated proxies. Create Reddit accounts assigned one per proxy.
Submit a new thread (Be sure to be in the correct subreddit) Upvote your thread with every account and watch some amazing traffic coming at your site :)
 
Your site may need a redesign. People usually get excited about something they think is new. Also If people do not respond well to email especially previous members then it's time for a change. Look at your email again and see if the message is something that still fits your demographic. Incentives always help. Offer something for coming back to visit. Sometimes it takes a few emails to get the attention of old members. For new visitors you should focus on seo and social engagement and of course of all this is only after you have begun to post high quality content that people want to read.

I know that this is a blackhat/ gray-hat SEO forum, but you need to work on your content.

Why would people pay if they're not receiving any value from you?
 
Thanks. Content is fresh. I would rather not put the url on here as I'm not sure how google will pick the url associated with BH... any other suggestions?

Why would I need dedicated proxies? Would it be wrong to use google approved proxies that may rotate everyso often? Like the feature scrapebox has? Thanks...
 
A good solution which will work based on the niche, try to build up a social media following on twitter, Buy tweetattacks and target people who would be interested and start following and unfollowing.

Another thing would be to start a group on facebook and buy FB lead chef and scrape your audience based on popular pages in your niche. use the FB emails to invite your audience to your facebook group. a simple imacro bot can get you by in the automated invite process.

The only things you would need to buy is tweetattacks and FB lead chef which will set you back $100 and it works.

Are you sharing information that people want? If not, then that is where you need to concentrate.
If your forum is outdated and does not cover the niche well, then nobody will sign up.
