The ones who already made it try to, both subconsciously and overtly, put those who are trying to work their way up down. It's the only way the owners of the market remain the owners of the market; not through a better product, but by reducing competition. That's how states and territories are run as well. It's all smoke and mirrors that keep you away, not that you're no good at what you do.
Waiting to act is also a sign of perfectionism.
