I feel insanely unprofessional, because I still get surprised when the SEO I provide works well.
People wait so long, because they don't believe they can enter the market successfully.
^ That kind of thinking has been put into the minds of plebs by patricians for EVER. The ones who already made it try to, both subconsciously and overtly, put those who are trying to work their way up down. It's the only way the owners of the market remain the owners of the market; not through a better product, but by reducing competition. That's how states and territories are run as well. It's all smoke and mirrors that keep you away, not that you're no good at what you do.
Waiting to act is also a sign of perfectionism.
From Wiki On Perfectionism (Psychology): "Unhealthy perfectionists consider their mistakes a sign of personal defects. For these individuals, anxiety about potential failure is the reason perfectionism is felt as a burden." and it is this anxiety that reduces the philosophical drive for perfection, which is "that one can attain a perfect life or state of living. Rather, a perfectionist practices steadfast perseverance in obtaining the best possible life or state of living."
Honestly, and this is what I did, just publish things. Publish your lowest level work, anonymously. If it succeeds, post increasingly better content.
If you have integrity and a real work ethic, you've already beaten 80% of the competition around you. The competition you have left to overcome is yourself and that voice that tells you to accept limitations that are so difficult to overcome, because they do not exist. It's fighting a phantom. It's like a huge elephant who thinks he's trapped because he's tied by a little rope and has been all his life. Live and prosper. You have to assert to yourself your own right to succeed through quality work, and the rest will follow.
