I'm a professional web developer and recently thought it'd be fun to start a niche tech blog. It'll mostly center around how-to's and other topics that are hard to find info on online. Realistically what kind of money/monetization methods can I expect from this? From my experience the two main monetization methods are:

CPA/affiliate marketing - This I can do to only a limited extent as most of the topics I'll cover have nothing to do with physical products and I'd have to force it to add a sizable amount of CPA links
PPC ads - This will fit more cleanly into the website, my only concern is the amount of traffic to return a decent profit. with my niche being tech related I have a feeling an above average number of my users will use adblock and I don't want to have aggresive amounts of ads.

So with these factors in mind what kind of money can I expect to make(assuming this blog gets traffic and I don't abandon it)? And with a tech niche are there any other monetization methods I can use? Of course there's no real way to guess what kind of money a website is going to make, but I'd like to hear from people who have more experience than me to get a ballpark idea of what I can expect.

There are just far too many variables for us to give you a realistic number, even a ballpark. You should expect to make $0/month from this blog. That is the most realistic answer I can give you. With hard work, a small investment here and there for improvements, and a lot of luck, you could make $50/month, or $500/month, or $5000/month, or much more. Aim for $1/month, and be happy if you reach that. Most blogs never do.
