Realistic budget for a decent video ?

New to the YT automation and wanted to start trying them out.
However I am confused with the budget it require to produce a decent quality YT video that people enjoy. I am planning to take scripting myself and only VO and Video for outsourcing.

Is $80-100/ video a realistic budget ?

I have searched through Fiverr and most I find for VO alone it’s upward $150+

I am confused how others in this forum is saying $50 is good enough for a decent video…

is it done by targeting new talent that are willing to produce work at a lower price?

Don’t use Fiverr for this type of work. I would check Upwork or PeoplePerHour, since you usually get better quality there.

50$ per video is really low. I believe in the saying ‘You get what you pay for’. If you’re not doing anything you will need

Script
Editing
Thumbnails
Voice Over

Theres no way that you can get decent quality for 12.5$ per task. Even if you still do the script and thumbnails yourself it’s not much for the freelancer.

In my experience 150$ is the absolute minimum if you really want engaging videos.

I am looking at 8-10 minute video on a budget of $400-450 per month. Was thinking weekly videos with this budget but looks like i would need to realign my expectations or take on more task myself utilizing my non working hours.

follow up question on this, as I’m going to try and experiment different freelancers and video style, I am worried if I am not able to stick to posting schedule.

does it hurt that he algo if I am posting inconsistently say 2 videos on month 1, 1 vid on month 2, and 4 on month 3?

for the context, planning on a fresh channel with 0 subs and views, if that’s a factor to consider…

Produce ahead so that you don’t run the risk of not having enough output.

Depending on your niche this might be easier or harder for trending topics. However for evergreen niches this won’t be an issue.
 
I don't know if it works, but all the students from my university provide the best budget service. Try finding some university community and it should take less than 100 usd

Ok thanks a bunch! Understand, so it’s more of a trend vs evergreen niche that yt algo might push depends on posting consistency

The algo has nothing to do with this. It can push both type of videos.

It’s just that not as many people will watch a video if you upload an old video. For example if you upload an Icebucket challenge in 2023. No one cares about it anymore.

So posting consistency has no relevance to YouTube algo, it’s just I would want to make sure I post on time if i am pursuing trend based video. (I.e interest rate of Fed in February)

For evergreen (I.e how to overcome procrastination), it doesn’t matter that much on when I do post

but ideally i would want to post a mix of evergreen and trend based video within a channel to balance things out.

That’s a good plan since you should be able to post your “evergreen” videos whenever you’re not able to produce the “trending” videos.

Also YouTube definitely rewards consistency. If for whatever reason you don’t upload in months you will quickly notice. Also it’s much more likely that your videos get recommended to others when you regularly upload (and your KPIs like viewer retention, CTR, etc.) are good.
 
$80-100 is more then enough. Hire people from developing countries.
 
If you have the time, start creating the videos on your own. You mentioned YT automation, so there are lots of tools available to use AI to create YouTube videos. Such as pictory dot ai, steve.ai : there are many, just Google "ai to create youtube videos". After creating a few videos, ideally you would get better at it with each video and save a lot of money rather than outsourcing for creating each video.

Yes bro, I am planning to do that.
Do it myself at the start as a proof of concept for the channel niche then consider outsourcing later. My only worry is my ability to keep up to the posting consistency haha
 
Mate, first you should figure out what content you wanna make, then comes the budget. I strongly believe that no matter how much money you spend on video, the most important thing is entertaining. Do you realise how many viral videos were made back in 2010-2015's filming on the iPhone or with free software to capture desktop motion. Mb you should try filming your outdoor walking through your neighborhood, with some chill vibes on the back. But first you should get nonroyalty audio background to not be banned due to copyright policy. No doubt it want be an issue, cuz nowadays there is a lot of platforms, where you may find free music. I spend like an hours watching how people just walking on the city streets during the rainy romantic weather. Just catch your phone, wait for the rain and GO, just go) No matter where you live, it would be interesting to walk with you (virtualy ofc). At least it coast nothing to you)

Use upwork. You can get a high quality video done for 50 to 80 $
