Real USA SIM Cards for 2FA and phone verifications

I was considering starting a simple service that rents real USA sim cards monthly. The general idea is that you would rent the number for a specific service.

What kind of interest is there in this? What kind of prices would you pay?

i.e. $5/month for a phone number for Instagram verification/re-verification

complete with an online dashboard and api

$5/month would be pretty expensive, it's a lot cheaper to buy sim cards locally to solve PV's.
I guess this is why they are not so popular.
