For people offering the services, I'm sure he means "white hat" by stating they're not profiles that were randomly created with like 10 friends and some chick that has an American name but purely from some far out country. It'd be nice to see TRUE legit profiles for my sake too. Although some of my likes claim to be real, my insights is stating it's mainly coming from some Middle Eastern country.

When I'm talking about white hat, I'm talking about the way people become fans. If they are tricked in any way then it's black hat. I'm not apposed to black hat (it serves it's purpose) but in this instance I need real fans who actually want to follow a page.

I also have an issue with scammers saying they use white hat methods when they are actually using black hat methods, why not just sell as black hat? Plenty of people want that.

lol, if you don't care if the profiles don't really look legit, then just go on fiverr, no? There's plenty of people on there that'll throw out tons of likes for cheap. I doubt the providers here or anywhere most will be generally using bh methods, unless I'm missing something where people providing fans are usually using bh ways. If you find a provider, let me know too! I'd be interested (not trying to thread jack btw) :D

I am reading georgina lany's FACEBOOK ATM, she writes how to get real likes on pages 39-41. use amazon's MTURK-dotcom
you can pay people as low as 1 cent to do a task.
she writes you cant directly instruct mturk workers to "like" you facebook page, you have be more creative -- give them the link and tell them click on the button that is next to the title.
( i dont know how old this book is, i got it off BHW, so if the mturk rules havent changed it might still be good, i am planning to do it myself, but working on something else
just now. )
