Read SMS API

I need an api that provides me numbers, and read sms. It's for activating twitter accounts.

I was thinking of creating a gateway to sell similar service.
You would buy US number that only you have access to.
You would login and check sms messages to your phone number available only to you.
It would cost you say $4.99 per month.
Nobody else would have this phone number, so it would not be banned by facebook or other account you need to use it for.
Is there an interest for this?
