Anyone know some good tips to buy on amazon and for re-sell? I want to know if the sale items are permanent price drops or if they will go back up, and when should I take advantage and sell them later? Thanks.

I don't see anything wrong with this, as long as you have the start-up cash and are willing to wait for the price to go up. Also be sure that the price is for sure going to go back up.. If you had a TON of money to invest it could be a long term investment.. it's kind of like stock investments.. buy it when its low, sell it when its high.

If you found something that people in your local area are interested in that is discounted on Amazon, you could sell them in your local area for the regular price? Craigslist works too.

You can use something like camelcamelcamel to see the historical price of an item and easily detect price drops and rises.

As others have suggested, if you want to run a serious operation, definitely contact manufactures/wholesalers directly. Many of them offer dropship programs.

One idea is that if there is a particular niche you know a lot about or have identified as profitable you could just become an Amazon Affiliate and just take a cut of anything you sell off there website. Taking this route should open up a lot more possibilities and even better you do not have to gamble on inventory, shipping, customer service etc. or the hope that "the price goes up". Its extremely cheap to setup a website these days and there are plenty of Amazon based/fed sites that are making lots and lots of money. Hope you are not in California because this idea will be ruled out. If you want to take the buy bulk and re-sell route you may be better off looking for products at a place like Alibaba or one of the major drop shipping companies.

I used to do this when I can find a 40% difference or more in price on an item which isn't too common. This is probably best done with things that are popular or trending. Right now you can find new toys for something like $19.99 on Amazon and sell on eBay for $26.95 which is only a $2.46 profit. In order to make this "worth my while" I would have to make at least $200 a day, so I would need something like $1630 set aside for a days' worth of transactions. If I were just starting off I might consider it, but the time between listing an item on eBay for the lowest competing price vs the current price of the same item on Amazon might change.

You could make a list of a couple hundred items on Amazon that sell for 20% cheaper on eBay, and when it sells on eBay, you buy it on Amazon and have it sent to that persons' address. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you are not a top rated seller because that discount can really save you a lot of money if you are processing so many transactions a day. (So instead of $2.46 in profit from the item I listed above, you would make 3.05. 80 transactions a day, that could be an extra $47)

you should not be so concerned about the price flux and the moment, just be head strong for finding mass amounts of reliable manufactures, witch should give you the ability too sell yours inventory 20% cheaper then the next guy. thats all that matters. make it simple

Make sure you have cash reserves to do this properly. You need to make it worth your time. Making $2 per sale and only selling 5 items a day isn't going to get you anywhere. Take your time and research.

Honestly there is not much on Amazon that is not on eBay cheaper. Instead you would be luckier buying
on eBay and selling on Amazon. Generally you can get away with selling items cheaper on Amazon.

Cheers
