I am new to Bitcoin.

Not sure, what is Bitcoin, its value in current and future scenario?

Is it a good idea to accept Bitcoin (as a vendor)? Is that like an investment ?

Bitcoin is a currency just like $.. But a digital currency...you can use it to pay or get paid.. Invest or whatever you want with it.. The value for bitcoin is soaring high, my opinion is to buy and store it.. Or trade it..

Thanks for your kind suggestions. What do I need to know in order to buy and store it? Where do I store it? How does that work? Any account like PayPal?

Yes you should have Bitcoin as one of your acceptable currency/gateway..
We are using too for our business..
There's lots of wallet and you can choose one of them.
I recommend you either blockchan or Coinbase as your Bitcoin wallet.

Opening Wallet is free, no monthly fees what so ever .
There is small fee per transaction.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that your wallet password is strong (over 24 symbols etc etc).

Here is an nice video tutorial you can watch (unknown language

Personally, I'm keeping my Bitcoin on exchange site (like Bitstamp.com). Not very recommended due to hack possibilities, but that way I can diversity my portfolio with splitting investment in to few other coins too, not everything in Bitcoin.
Another good online wallet is Bitgo
