have been absent but not for any other reason but moving
thought Id post a contribution in whitehat but it could be grey depending on how its used.
not sure of thoughts on topic of timestamping folders that contain the keyword filename but the ones I have done with a few variations (and only handmade not scraped content pages) are turning into top rankings within a month for 40-50k competing allinurl searches @ google...
Its a pain to update filenames manually but thats peanuts compared to some of the grunt work that we or outsourced work have to all go through

I don't understand this post at all and I've been a webmaster for several years. How can you timestamp a folder? I upload a folder and that's it, I've never seen a timestamp option in any FTP program for a folder? Or are you talking about timestamping pages with keywords in the page name (ex. mortgageinnewjersey.html)?

you could write a script to update the timestamp and file name.. hell, you could do it with bash.

yea i guess the post i made isnt real clear.. what I have been mostly doing is using niab or other similar adsense templates.. to avoid a fingerprint issue, I have removed a lot of the nonsense code that wont apply.. instead of the datas folder that exists inside the cr*eative *niche templates, I use a variation of it, and NAME the folders that contain the info I am manually adding to the site, the DATE
    ie: thesportdomain.com/lacrosse/06-22-08/sticks.html -
I can only assume this is working for me because the engines like seeing recent, relevant data for topics that dont yield enough results when searched..
Sorry if this is confusing, I cant really explain the exact niche I am using to make this work, but I am about to use it in a "celeb" oops kinda site, and will see if it works there as I anticipate...

I have only the vaguest idea of what the original posted means, but I know that it is a simple task to change the attributes of files and folders - for example, to set the 'created date' of a folder to '5/1/2002 10:05 PM'. What I don't understand is how one can make money with this knowledge.

    Home Page:
Why not use a PHP script that would 'redate' the folders/filenames automatically whenever you want? You'd just click an update button and they'd all be updated instantly with the current date.

Are you doing this to Re-ping a page? Is your niche related to current events?

yea ill do my best to clear this up with another thread... for now, i cant really say anymore as the technique is kinda making me $ and its not being used as much as I thought it would be...so I wont mind sharing the concept, the problem is Id be showing my entire site/niche/concept and that, I don't want to do.. When i can make time, Ill create and example widget site to show what is currently working, more for google then anywhere else
Atlas, yes it 100% is totally to do with current events (celeb/tabloid). There is a blog element to it by incorporating CARP on static pages, but those static pages have galleries and they are the ones I am naming with a time stamp format.. and they are the ones reaping the rewards...
