tltr; I developed a theme for someone on fiverr and he uses it for free and then he wants me to do free work on the site's SEO.

Ok I have not been active on bhw for way too much time, but I need to write this somewhere to get it off my chest.

So I developed a WordPress theme for a guy on fiverr, even if his messages and the way he replied seemed a bit of and the job was way underpriced.

After I installed the theme on his site and styled it further according to his instructions he said that he did not liked it and we agreed on a mutual cancellation, now he is using the theme, with just small modifications of making words bold or putting different headings on them (something I could obviously do, if he had said so). I would not be so much furious if he did not have the courage to send his "SEO guy" (as he called him on later messages) to message me on fiverr and tell me that they have installed two different SEO plugins and that I should fix the damage of some pages getting deindexed, because I am the developer, after I explained to his "SEO guy" that I did not even got paid for what I did, he offered $20 for me to fix the damage :banghead:

After one month (today), the guy I made the theme for said to me that their seo is worse and that I should make it so that only the meta description of the All in One SEO plugin is "seen in Google", but he also wants to have Wordpress SEO activated. Well I politely told him to go find someone else to joke with and reported him to fiverr. But what I really wanted to say to him is :thefinger
Needless to say that I am quitting fiverr for good.

Moral of the story: Be careful with fiverr buyers and only sell there if you have nowhere else to sell.

Please come and fix the theme now, my SEO guy says its your fault.

Fiverr is hilarious to sell on, but only if you have an odd sense of humour :)

What a spastic. Don't quit Fiverr for one bad customer.

Sorry to hear man. People over there really try to take advantage sometimes...

What a spastic. Don't quit Fiverr for one bad customer.

It is not only one bad customer, there are many of them, but the majority of my clients has treat me well. Maybe saying that I will quit fiverr was too much, because I was angry, but being a developer on fiverr is pretty hard and it makes you sad sometimes when people for example ask me to develop a site like indiegogo with Wordpress and they say they have a budget of $30 or when they want me to develop an e commerce store theme and integrate WooCommerce and place their products on it for $20 (both request have happened on September and they are only the top of the 15 weird requests I got on fiverr that month). I guess I need to not take bad clients in consideration too much and not get sad and angry about them.

Such people need a punch in the face to wake the fuck up, and even then they will probably do the same shit.

You also need to wake up and move on. Do something more worthwhile than Fiverr.

By the looks of it, it hasn't been fruitful anyway.
