Not really in a habit of using Keywords Density tools, but the new Panda updates are beginning to make me panic so I ran a few checks..

What is a good Density % ?? AND Why are other checkers giving different results?

Using Ranks.nl and BHW gave me considerably different readings

I think these tools are terribly outdated. They have a way to simplistic way of looking at density;
reasons for differences:
do they in- or exclude title and alt tags
do they in- or exlcude urls
do they give titles and h1 more emphasis?
do they give bolded text more emphasis?
do they calculate the % compared to all of the text, all of the html code, a mix?
etc. etc.

Ahhh, good point. Cheers mate. Do you know a better method of measuring KWD then?

I think anywhere between 2-4% is good keyword density percentage. I normally use SEO pressor while making a post. That plugin is pretty accurate and works fine

Believe it or not but I actually follow google's guidelines here to some extend; Make sure it is easily readable without the text filling 'stuffed'.
That + the known optimization tricks (keywords in title, h1, h2, h3, bold, mentioned in first sentence etc. etc. ) works great for me.
I've ranked pages that show a density of 20% according to some tools, simply because of the tags, links etc. But it wasn't stuffed and easily readable and would definitely pass a manual check.

The reason keyword checkers are giving different results is twofold:
1. Some keyword checkers may use google.nl but language english and some others use google.nl and set language to dutch.
2. Some keyword checkers may be counting all the URL's from one site while others may not
