Rankings taking a long time?

It's hard to rank now with this competition, but if you have a good keyword and you know what to do and how to do it, you have a chance.

It really depends on your niche, your keyword, what your SEO Strategy is , you can't just answer those kind of questions without having a deep look at the situation !

It's depends on your niche , competition..and many other factor's.

New sites rank perfectly well for me on my side. Made about 5 sites 2 weeks ago and they're all almost on Page 1 (quite easy keywords, though).

When a domain that has ranked well gets hit on an update, 301 it to a new one and the new one takes its place in days. This proves that quick ranking is still possible. The way I churn and burn a domain is similar. First I do all the work towards my (to be) domain, once I have done all the work, I buy (register) the brand new domain, one that has never been used before. Still works for what I need, medium comp shit.

This is golden, thanks for sharing.

Anyway I didn't notice anything different in the time it takes to rank, takes me about 2 - 4 weeks to hit page 1 for everything I ever worked on

The longer it takes, the more adwords they sell ;)

Its definitely taking a while to gain some ranking traction, several weeks to say the least for the niches I do.

If you want sites to index and rank faster, try social signals. Anyone who's tried the viral type websites may be able to confirm this. Just post some viral type article and boost the post as usual, per your favorite settings.

I've found that my posts index fast, and I also get some residual organic traffic and rankings after the posting. This is true even if the posts didn't do that well in terms of virality.

It seems to me that Google has somehow taught the algorithm to follow the traffic. Anyone observe the same thing?

But for very low comp keywords i have no issues ranking them. I think this applies tp med-high comp.

A definitely Strong SEO Campaign can save you from all issues and algo updates

I am using SAPE. Anyone else using SAPE in this thread?

What are you using it with? Sape alone won't rank you.
I'm using it with some other links of lower quality. I have done this before and it took 2 weeks, and now it is taking much longer.

Good ranking depend on many factors like keyword, content, and many other factors. Also, now a days competition is very high and we can't predict the Google. Since Google has constantly updating there search engine tool. :(

2)
"The time line shown in FIG. 6 may be represented in days in one implementation consistent with the principles of the invention. In other words, it might take approximately 70 days for a change in a document's link-based information to change the rank of the document to its steady state (target) value (e.g., 1.0 in FIG. 6)."

Straight from the google patent http://www.google.com/patents/US8244722 and my old thread

As soon as somebody figures out how to not set this part of the algorithm off then we will no longer have to wait for rankings.

Interior pages can rank in a week or less.... however for the homepage for the main keyword it took like 3.5 months before I showed up for it... since then it kept moving up till I'm at #3 now on the first page. I feel like the more competitive your main kw (if there's lots of adwords for it); it will take even longer ... I am guessing it takes around 3 months for the homepage to start ranking for the main kw. maybe a tad longer. Interior pages can rank fast.

It must have been your keywords or niche. Haven't experience the same sort of problem in the keywords or niches that we were ranking here at work.

Sape + some good link variety, anchor diversity and you should be good, provided your on-page SEO is up to scratch of course.
