Have anyone else seen this lately, that your rankings are slowly but steadily dropping? Drops are not sitewide and usually those that have most searches are the ones falling. This is happening on multiple sites with different link building techniques. Any ideas?

Are you still adding fresh content and off page seo being maintained ?

Could just be you losing links, competitor gaining links, or a mix of both.

Yes and Yes. Lets put it like this - I'm doing everything I've done whole year, but just now (basically after latest Google updates) the rankings have been dropping slowly.

Could be your competitors are getting better backlinks etc.
Have you checked out their site for their linking methods / sources ?

Your competitors can also do nagative seo for your site.So keep a check on backlinks ,if somebody copies your content. It can also be reason. If you find anything just report to google.

Can happen that some of the backlinks you added a while ago are reconsidered as spam by Google, so check that.

It will happen when your competitor gaining more links and check your backlinks too. If any links have been broken, these kinds of drops will happen, find and fix those links. Build some more quality links to gain your rankings.

Maybe. How would you go actually checking that?

I'm pretty sure it's not about competitors gaining backlinks or doing neg seo.
